1—пожарный насос по Герону, 2 —Геронова паровая машина (пар из котла, поступающий в шар, вырывается через две трубки, обращенные в противоположные стороны, и приводит шар во вращение), 3—сифон, 4—Геронов автомат для открывания дверей храма (при разведении огня на жертвеннике Е воздух, расширяясь, перегоняет воду из шара Р в сосуд M, и двери открываются; при охлаждении жертвенника в нем образуется пониженное давление, вода переливается обратно в Р, и двери закрываются).
